As we were getting ready to hit the road again in California, we knew that this night would be the last we would spend away from Seattle. I personally did not know what to expect from the road because I had heard that the pacific coast highway, as pretty as it is, may be a rough road. Then again, I thought that since the Civic had been through the Sierra Nevada without a problem, it would definitely survive a few turns and slopes!
While we started going further North in California, farmers' lands spread out hundreds of miles before our eyes...Small trees, tomatoes, peanut farms etc. We were in the heart of the US food chain's crib! I will never eat something from California again the same way, at least because I know where it is from, but also because I remember the acrid smell of the pesticides floating in the air, hum =(

Tomato Truck. We hoped that these were used for ketchup, because I cannot imagine that the ones at the bottom would pass the "Publix waxy appearance screening test" (man, how much I am going to miss Publix and their sandwiches!)
What will be most memorable of that day for me will be the colors of the Nature before us.
See that road in the horizon? Yup, that's where we're going!
