Sorry it took so long...
I could keep up with the blog more easily on days that I was not driving, but since I did on the last days of the trip, and since my main goal upon arrival in Seattle was to find an apartment, I got behind. Ok, the excuse is lame, but I really tried my best on only a few hours of sleep per night.
So, without further due, here are the last California pics worth showing; I hope you'll enjoy them =)
After the long miles of the farmers' flat land...some more of the butter-colored hills appeared before us, and the strange sci-fi atmosphere took over again as the hills were covered in windmills. Going from a flat cultivated land to this kind of scenery in less than half an hour of driving is rather impressive I must say, and it takes you aback a little.

I am so glad that I got to capture this red barn in the middle of California, because to me this is a symbol of typical Western American country as I have always pictured it (due to the many movies I watched when I was still 0% Americanized héhé).

The sun gave way to the cloudy rainy weather that darkened the pictures, but then again, I love this kind of weather (Seattle is perfect fit for me from that point of view). As we got closer to the Northernmost part of California, the surroundings started to look like what I expected from the Northwest: Forests running on hilltops all the way to the horizon.
After going through that tunnel, the weather and the settings changed completely: Trees and Sun. Who said it rains so much in Orgeon and Washington? I'd like to point out that the more we were going to the "rainy states", the clearer the weather was.
This superb road took us through very small villages in California (one notably memorable, Redwood, as it seemed like a movie set), the vineyards, and the deep forest of Northern California. This is a road that I would love to drive on for days or weeks, with nothing more than a sleeping bag and minimum camping gear to enjoy fully the beauty of Nature around it. If anyone's in, right on, let's book our next spring break in my civic!

Upon advice from this really nice California couple, whom saw us looking for a place to eat, we ended up in this very cheesy diner, colored Vivian Westwood style. The Star Restaurant served us deliciousness on a plate, and it was great to hear the 70+ waitress with peroxydized hair tell me she drove to NYC with a small trailer back in the day. I thought that if she thought it was worth mentioning, then she probably kept the experience as good memories...It made me hope that I would feel the same way about my trip to the Pacific Northwest as well.
