Ok, well as much as we drove through 4 states in one day, it was not quite the same driving through Texas! We arrived in Texas on the 27th, and finally crossed the New Mexico state line today, the 29th later in the morning. Needless to tell you that when you look at the horizon and all you see between two black mountains is the road that seems to be taking you…nowhere, it can get pretty depressing. But oh well, we managed, and once again, the only one undisturbed was Prince; he slept the whole way. As you can guess from the pics, the drive pretty tedious because after the excitement of being somewhat in the desert subsided, boredom took over!
Alors, autant on a traversé quatre états dans la même journée, autant la traversée du Texas fût une autre paire de manches! Nous avons commencé a conduire le 27 au soir dans cet état interminable, et nous en sommes enfin sortis aujourd’hui, le 29, en fin de matinee. Inutile de vous raconter notre soulagement quand on a enfin vu le panneau “New Mexico”. La route était longue et indescriptiblement ennuyeuse. Ça fiche un sacré coup au moral lorsqu’on regarde à l’horizon et que tout ce que l’on voit entre deux montagnes noires c’est la route que l’on doit emprunter et qui semble mener nulle part.
