Today we left the Super 8 in the morning, and headed towards the other end of Texas, cowboy style, listening to the only radio station that was available...you guessed it, a Country music radio station! Oh yeah! At least my mom was happy. As we drove through, we really saw the surroundings, the fauna (a few dead foxes and skunks on the side of the road) and the flora (cactuses started appearing) change drastically. At the end of the day, the swamps felt really far behind! I was glad that I had purchased a spare gas tank, because indeed, there are miles and miles and miles of nothingness in the heart of Texas!
We finally made it to a motel tonight in Fort Stockton, TX.
Although our original goal was to reach El Paso, TX, it would have been impossible. 10 hours in the car was already enough! Again, because of the delay, we did not stop by San Antonio (bummer I would have loved to see the Riverwalk).
The hotel is really great, and I will actually go ahead and enjoy some zzz in this welcoming bed. I will post the pics as soon as humanely possible!
Aujourd'hui nous avons quitté Orange, TX en ayant pour objectif d'atteindre El Paso, TX. Nous avons roulé pendant des kilomètres et des kilomètres au milieu du Texas, au milieu de rien, ayant pour vu essentiellement quelques foreuses à pétrole et beaucoup de désert! Heureusement que j'avais prévu le bidon d'essence au cas où! On s'est finalement arrêté un peu plus tôt sur la route...parce que 10 heures de voiture, ça commençai à faire. Je m'apprête à profiter un peu du lit douillet de l'hôtel (il est ici minuit et vingt-et-une minutes, heure centrale soit 7h de décalage avec la France). Demain réveil aux aurores avec pour objectif Phoenix, AZ.
